At its regular meeting on June 8, 2011, the George Rogers Clark Chapter of the sons of the American Revolution honored David Houchin with the SAR Bronze Good Citizenship Award.
The Bronze Good Citizenship medal was authorized in 1895 and recognizes persons whose achievements are noteworthy in their school, community or state.
David Houchin, Special Collections Librarian at the Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library, has contributed greatly to the preservation and enhancement of the historical and genealogy records of our community. His tireless helpfulness has been valuable to many individuals and organizations.
The Sons of the American Revolution is the leading male lineage society that perpetuates the ideals of the war for independence. AS a historical, educational, and patriotic, non-profit corporation we seek to maintain and expand the meaning of patriotism, respect for our national symbols, the value of American citizenship, and the unifying force of “e pluribus unum” that was created from the people of many nations – one nation and one people.
